What Is a Bond in Chemistry?

What Is a Bond in Chemistry? What is a bond in chemistry? Is it the same as a bond in physics? Is there any similarity at all? Read on to find out.First of all, let's define what a bond is in chemistry. A bond is a chemical bond. There are many chemical bonds and they all have similar characteristics. In chemistry, these bonds are formed when two different elements combine to form a new compound. It is the action of this new compound on the other that causes the chemical reaction to take place.Chemistry is defined by the properties of elements and compounds. As we know, the atomic mass of the element determines its atomic number. This means that two atoms of the same element tend to repel each other and this is why bonds are formed.A bond can be broken or unbroken. In chemistry, if two elements combine into a compound that results in a product that is toxic to humans or even animals, the two elements cannot bond together again. They must undergo a chemical change and this is the break ing of the bond. A bond is thus broken when one element leaves the other's orbit. The sum of the mass and the radius of an atom will determine whether the bond is weak or strong. There are many instances where two substances combine to form a chemical bond. The most common example is carbon dioxide. The presence of carbon gas in the atmosphere generates a chemical reaction called photosynthesis. When carbon dioxide combines with water, oxygen is created. When this oxygen combines with hydrogen, this forms water. The most difficult case of a bond in chemistry is fusion. Fusion is the process by which two atomic nuclei combine together to form a single nucleus. In this case, two atomic nuclei come together and this fusion is known as fission. Both of these processes involve two nuclei, but fusion is responsible for producing a much larger amount of energy than the fission. This is why fusion reactors are so important to modern society.Chemistry has an interesting history. In order to cr eate a functional combination of atoms, many different reactions were needed. The chemistry of our world would not be possible without these interactions between elements and their chemicals.

4 Tips to Survive Working With an Ex

4 Tips to Survive Working With an Ex Image via Pexels Oh, romance, a phenomenon that we are all blessed to experience at one point or another in our lives. Romantic relationships, just like platonic and familial relationships, have the capability to turn sour for many reasons. Typically, in romantic relationships, this results eventually in a breakup, which is hard enough to deal with not only emotionally and financially (if you have joint bank accounts, shared assets, etc.), but also if you happen to work in the same place. The atmosphere and tone of any job may be hard enough to cope with so the added stress of running into your ex-boyfriend or girlfriend can make matters even worse. It’s hard enough to gauge the right words to say or gestures to use with an ex in the outside world but factor in a professional work setting and dynamics can get even weirder and more difficult. Have you recently broken up with an ex and find yourself in the same spot where he/she works? Are you not sure how to deal with this while taking your job seriously? Check out my few tips below for how to be more confident and become more comfortable around your ex  at work! Image via Pexels 1. Evaluate your priorities Before I delve into how to deal with your ex at work, I want to preface with this very important tip, which is to evaluate your priorities. Working with your ex can be a completely harmless thing or it can turn out to be more harmful than helpful to your well-being. If you feel that being close with your ex at your job is unhealthy or toxic for you, then you may have to evaluate the importance of your job. If your job is something temporary and replaceable? If so, you should consider seeking a job elsewhere if your present circumstances prove to have a negative influence on you. 2. Remember your purpose at your job Now that you’ve evaluated your comfort ability and safety at work with your ex, the first step to working efficiently with an ex at your job is to remember your purpose at your job. Upon seeing that your ex is in the same building as you, working with the same company, and being just a few feet away from you, you may lose a sense of why you’re there in the first place. Don’t lose that sense! Instead, remind yourself that your ex has nothing to do with your characteristics and skill set which assisted you in getting your current position. You are at your job for a reason and never forget the fact that you were hired based on what you possess, not what your parents or professor or even your ex have. 3. Keep focused and remain busy Even if you constantly remind yourself of your purpose, the mind can play some tough games and distract you from the important issues at hand. Upon seeing your ex for the first time, you may be flooded and overwhelmed with memories you had together, songs, pictures, etc. which can throw off your whole day of productivity. Regardless of how good or bad they look, keep yourself focused on the goals and objectives you have for that day/week/month and be sure to make time for yourself to work on your tasks. If you reach a point where you feel you are not busy enough, go to your boss and ask them if you can assist in any way with further tasks, as this can keep your mind more occupied while making you feel productive. 4. Engage civilly with your ex Now that you know how to deal with yourself in this situation, it’s time to consider how to interact with your ex. First, establish boundaries with them; boundaries can mean which hours to talk, places to talk, people to talk around, etc. Setting boundaries can make you feel more comfortable and leaves little room for any misunderstanding or misinterpretation of behavior to occur. Next, reiterate your position at the job and enforce the notion that you and he/she will have a strictly civil, work-oriented relationship. Leaving less room for a romantic progression in your relationship will help mitigate any chance of drama on the job. Image via Pexels While some of these tips may seem simple, it’s important to remember, especially after a breakup, your own worth and purpose in not only your job but also the world. Your worth is not dictated by someone else’s validation or affirmation, so once you come to terms with your own potential and respect yourself enough, dealing with an ex at work will be a breeze. If they see you respecting yourself, then they damn sure will want to respect you in return. As always, good luck!

Webi English

Webi English Webi English WEB Education Group was founded in China in 1998. With nearly 20 years of experience in the field of education, we have become one of the leaders in the language training industry. We have many branches of schools that have different focuses ranging from adult student, young learners, IELTS and test preparation, and online courses. We have established a presence on international social media like Facebook and LinkedIn if you wish to do some research about our company. Our English training centers for adults operate under the brand of WEB International English (WEBi), and have developed into one of the most recognized names in the field across China. As a teacher with WEBi, you will not be forced to work in the different brands that are part of WEB Education Group, unless you wish to do so. You can rest assured you will only teach the type of students we promote for our particular brand that interests you. The teaching method we use incorporates a student-centered philosophy with a focus on active learning. Most of our students have a desire to improve their spoken English, so the class activities promote speaking with a focus on communication in a business environment. We do have students with a specialized need to improve other language skills like writing or vocabulary relevant for particular academic or business fields. We have a unique level of already established curriculum that provides new teachers with established lesson plans, but also gives our experienced teachers the freedom to develop their own activities to implement in the classroom based on the target language the students need for their planned track in our school. At WEBi we offer 3 types of classes: Private Sessions with 1-4 students, Salon Classes with 1-10 students, and Social Clubs that are a less formal seminar-style class which size can vary greatly, but usually is around 20-30 students per class. For the two smaller class types, the students will be grouped based on a performance test of their spoken English to ensure that all participants can complete activities and communicate on the same level. Native English speaking teachers will only teach students ranging from intermediate to advanced levels of learners. Our training centers are located in busy, central locations in vibrant parts of their districts to both attract the most students and to give our teachers the best possible experience of living and working in China. You can find a variety convenient shops (grocery, clothing, , restaurants (Chinese and International), and entertainment nearby each one of our over 120 centers across China. Also there will always be mass transit options near our locations. China has one of the worlds best mass transit systems which enables you to quickly reach popular travel destinations near and far with relatively low cost. We want to take care of our teachers, especially those new to China. Someone with WEBi will pick you up at the airport and take you to your hotel, which we pay for, and assist you with the visa process. Chinese staff will assist you with setting up your life in China by helping you find an apartment, set up a bank account, register with the police and do a medical check (both required for the residence permit to live and work in China). We can also provide a 10,000rmb start-up loan to help you get established in China once you arrive. If you are uncertified (no TEFL/TESOL/CELTA) we can reimburse the cost and even recommend some programs that will get you certified to teach ESL in China. You also have the benefit of more experienced and helpful foreign teachers (from the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Ireland, or South Africa) working and living alongside you in China. Once you are on the job, we provide ongoing job training from the very beginning with opportunities for promotion within our organization. For high-quality teachers with experience, there are possibilities to be promoted to head teacher positions in our centers, or even in HR, training, and curriculum development at our headquarters. Your Chinese colleagues will also assist you and can teach you Chinese. At WEB you can expect a professional, modern work environment with friendly co-workers. The benefit package includes competitive remuneration, including housing and travel allowances. Health insurance is included. You get paid government-mandated holidays based on the Chinese national calendar, plus 5 additional paid days off at your request, and a paid sick leave policy. The workload is fair for the remuneration and benefit package we offer. You will be expected to teach up to 25 classes each week (50 minutes a class). You will have 5 classes per day, including weekends. As a language center catering to adults who have white-collar jobs, our students need classes outside of their standard working time, so the majority of your classes will be on weekends or evenings on weekdays. You will have 2 days off per week on weekdays.

Searching For a Tutor?

Searching For a Tutor? Is a tutor Toronto necessary for your son or daughter? If you are having trouble making the decision of whether or not to hire one for your child, there are a number of websites that specialize in providing quality information about tutors. Some of these sites give advice on various topics such as what to look for when searching for a tutor, where to find a good one, and what to expect from a tutor. For those of you who don't know much about tutors and are just looking for recommendations on how to get a good one, there are quite a few places to turn for this information. There are tutor Toronto reviews, which are online databases which contain reviews by other parents. In these, you will find both positive and negative reviews. The first step to finding the right tutor Toronto is to determine what you want to accomplish with your child's education. You will need to choose between either getting your child's tutor for one day a week or year long sessions. The amou nt of time that you have to commit to one tutor can depend on your children's age, how many children you have, and your budget. For example, if you have a son or daughter who is more advanced than your average child, you may not have the luxury of time to devote to their tutoring. On the other hand, if you have one child with an extremely early learning disability, you might be able to find a tutor who is able to spend just one hour per week with your child. An important factor to consider is the price that you will pay. No matter how expensive a tutor is, if you are paying a huge sum of money for him or her, you need to see how long they have been in business. When you do this, you should see that the tutors are successful in their field and that they have a solid reputation. You should also compare prices before deciding which one to go with. Although you can pay a lot, you still want to ensure that the tutor is competent enough to help your child with his or her homework and assig nments. When you decide which is the best for your children, you will need to search for and find the right tutor Toronto. The best way to do this is to take the time to read through the different sites and research as much as possible. You will then get a chance to meet the tutor in person and ask him or her about their personal background, the quality of their teaching, and what type of services they provide. Also, take the time to get to know the tutors and their personality so that you can decide if you feel comfortable with them.It is also important to consider whether or not you want to pay tutors for each hour that they spend with your child. Most Toronto reviews include a survey on how much each tutor charges, so you should take this into consideration before deciding. Another thing to think about is how much time you have to commit to one tutor. For example, if you have only one child who has special needs, you probably have the luxury of time that is available to dedicate t o each tutor. You will find a large number of Toronto reviews for the type of tutor you are looking for. By reading them and talking to the people who wrote them, you will get an idea of what to expect. If you are in the market for a new tutor, take the time to read a number of these sites and you should be able to make an informed decision.

Organic Chemistry Magnet Technology - An Alternative to Traditional Books?

Organic Chemistry Magnet Technology - An Alternative to Traditional Books? If you are a student interested in a degree in Organic Chemistry, then you have likely heard about a great way to earn your Bachelor's degree, even though your government has banned the use of textbooks in teaching. The local community college is now offering magnet technology as an alternative to books for teaching and learning. Students who live in rural areas cannot get away from the long commute to a big city. Online education is an easy way to meet the needs of students who want to study and still enjoy a home life.In most areas, teachers are going to live in cities or large towns where organic chemistry is a major subject. Traditional methods of teaching cannot always be replaced by other means. The big issue is that the classes can not be spaced at the same length so that they will not overlap. Another issue is that many teaching positions cannot be filled with teachers that live in rural areas because o f the need for transportation issues. This is where a magnet technology program works well for some students because there is no travel required for a long distance learning program at a local college. The advantage is that it is more affordable than a traditional program. Students can purchase the materials online or from a local college bookstore and use them to meet the requirements for their program. However, it is important to know that many chemistry teachers in rural areas are skeptical of the benefits of this program. The main question that many parents ask is how effective the online learning program can be in helping students learn more about organic chemistry. Many of these students will benefit from an in-class study guide that provides information on properties of the elements' chemical and physical properties. In addition, the in-class materials should provide a list of textbooks for chemistry majors and a list of materials that can be used for laboratory purposes.Chemic al structure tables, reaction lists, and calculation aids are required reading for students studying organic chemistry. There are materials that can be purchased online that can help give students a foundation for understanding that they will need later on in their studies. The materials should be used by all students in the class so that they will feel more confident and equipped to demonstrate their knowledge to others. This way the classroom environment can actually be a learning environment. With many online learning programs, it is important to select an online college that offers courses that will help prepare students for taking the course material online. Of course, many of the courses available online for organic chemistry will be found at a local college because it is the local college's responsibility to provide study materials to all students in the class. Some online colleges even offer materials that are just as effective as those found at a local college if they are of fered online.Local colleges that offer online education have also discovered that having many online students may lead to more students being interested in attending college. So, students who live in a rural area are helping their local community colleges to meet the needs of students living far away. Students can get back into the classroom environment that provides them with a structured environment to meet their challenges as students.

In-State vs. Out-of-State Colleges How to Choose

In-State vs. Out-of-State Colleges How to Choose Selecting a college that is right for you can seem like an impossible decision. Chances are, your state offers several possibilities, ranging from public universities to private liberal arts schools. There are schools in your town, nearby towns, and other states or even countries. There are colleges offering large campuses, small class sizes, and every student to teacher ratio in between. The act of selecting a school can quickly become overwhelming. While there are many ways to narrow down your search, location can be a big one for some students. So, how do you choose? Comparing in-state and out-of-state colleges can be a good place to begin. Think about where you want to live Before you even begin to think about cost or any number of factors, consider where it is you want to live for the next four-plus years. If you love your home state and hope to end up there someday, you may seriously consider an in-state school. If youre looking for a change, an out-of-state school may be the right choice for you. For many students, it can be easier to find employment after graduation in the town or state in which they received their degree. Students hold internships, make connections, and become a part of the community in which they study, so finding a location you enjoy can narrow down your choices. Consider the cost A great way to compare in-state and out-of-state schools is by looking at a breakdown of what it might cost to attend each. Out-of-state tuition can be very costly, but some schools offer waivers or other forms of financial aid. Find out as much as you can about particular policies regarding tuition and see if it fits realistically within your budget. Some students choose to begin their studies at an in-state school, saving money to transfer to an out-of-state school down the road. Do some investigating to find out if this is an option that might work for you. [RELATED: 3 Questions to Ask Your College About Financial Aid] Look at degree programs of interest If youve got your heart set on studying something specific, it is important to know that not all schools are created equal. Some schools only offer a limited number of majors, leaving you to explore out-of-state opportunities. Some degree programs are location specificif you want to study marine biology, for instance, Idaho may not be the right state for you. Similarly, New York City may not be your ideal location if youre interested in rural wildfires. [RELATED: How to Design Your Own College Major] Certain schools and even degree programs also monitor the number of students accepted in-state and out-of-state, meaning your chances of getting into a school or program could potentially vary based on where youre coming from. This will be good information to find out, no matter your decision. Evaluate potential opportunities If youre a student athlete and hope to pursue your sport in college, location can be a factor worthy of consideration. Some schools offer great ski programs while others specialize in soccerwhere do you fit in? Climate and geography can be limiting factors in these situations. Maybe youre interested in investigative journalism and find a lack of options within your state. In this case, look for out-of-state schools that excel in your chosen field. Youll also want to think about potential experiences available in and out of your state. For some students, college is all about trying new things. For them, an out-of-state college might be just the ticket to adventure and education. For others, in-state schools offer the same amount of opportunities while remaining somewhat familiar. The bottom line Ultimately, the best way to see if a college, be it in-state or out of it, is right for you is to take a trip there. If possible, make multiple visits at different times of year. This will give you a good idea of what the climate and general atmosphere of the school (and location) is like. Youll also see how students interact with one another and youll have an opportunity to discuss possible financial aid options in person. [RELATED: Top 10 Tips for College Campus Visits] In-state colleges are great options for some students, while the out-of-state experience is right for others. Identifying a college that is the right fit will be extremely beneficial in your future academic success. Take your time and find out whats right for you.

7 Famous Guitarists Who Overcame Setbacks - What Ive Learned

7 Famous Guitarists Who Overcame Setbacks - What Ive Learned Suzy S. Making it as a musician isnt always easy but its also not impossible! In this guest post, Ged Richardson from Zinginstruments shares what hes learned from seven  famous guitarists who overcame the odds   Tired of getting knocked back? Feeling like your time as a world-famous guitarist will never come? Downright depressed about trying to make it in the music industry? Yup. I know the feeling. It’s exhausting, isn’t it? But here’s the thing: what you’re feeling is completely normal. In fact, some of the best, most talented musicians experienced the very same feeling as you. Dont believe me? Here are seven  examples of how persistence and dogged determinism helped make the world’s greatest guitarists and musicians. 1. Elvis Presley If I told you the King, yes no other than Elvis Presley, was given his marching orders before his career took off, you’d think I was kidding right? No, I’m serious! Elvis was told by the concert hall manager in the Grand Ole Opry (a famous venue in Nashville) in no uncertain terms “You ain’t going nowhere, son. You ought to go back to driving a truck.” Looking back, that concert hall manager couldn’t have been more wrong. Someone needs to eat several King-size portions of humble pie. 2. Noel Gallagher Before songwriter and guitarist Noel Gallagher shot to fame in the 1990s with his band Oasis,  he endured a lifetimes worth of setbacks. He battled through family strife, expulsion from school, and dead-end jobs but he persevered with his music, writing three of his most popular songs (including Live Forever) in what he referred to as the The Hit Hut (which was in fact a storehouse at the company he was working for at the time!). Did success come quickly thereafter? Not at all. He auditioned as a singer for the popular indie band Inspiral Carpets and was promptly rejected. Instead, they  gave him  a job on the tour crew for two years. Tour crew! Now look where he is filling arenas around the globe. Some achievement, I would say. 3. Django Reinhardt In 1920s France, a bright new star was stunning audiences in the Parisian music halls with his virtuoso guitar playing. He was called Django Reinhardt. At the tender age of 18, Django got his first major gig with English band leader Jack Hylton, quite an accomplishment for an uneducated Romani Gypsy. But tragedy struck soon after. A fire broke out in his caravan and he was badly injured. He injured his left hand, paralyzing all but two fingers on his fretting hand. For many this would be the end of their playing career. But not for Django, who worked out a way to play the guitar using his two working fingers. He went on to create a whole new genre of his own with Stéphane Grappelli, known as ‘Gypsy Jazz,’ and the rest is history, as they say. 4. Paul McCartney Songwriter and bassist Paul McCartney  is the picture of charisma and confidence on stage when you see that old footage of the Beatles. But looks can be deceiving. Sir Paul was prone to bouts of stage fright, often rendering him useless in front of screaming fans. Interviewed by the NME in 2009, he said: “So I remember being on the steps of Wembley Town Hall, literally getting ill with nerves, and thinking, Ive got to give this business up, this is no good.’” If he can play through the nerves, so can you. 5. Pat Martino This jazz musician  is one of the most revered and famous guitarists  in the industry. Was it all a ride in the park for him? Far from it. Pat Martino was already established as a heavyweight guitar player, but at the age of 36 he suffered a brain aneurysm that  put him out of action. And that’s putting it mildly. Surgery resulted in amnesia and loss of his ability to play guitar. Quite a setback for a guitarist. With dogged determination he managed to relearn the instrument, while battling what he called ‘near-suicidal’ levels of sorrow. In 2004, Martino was named Guitar Player of the Year in Downbeat Magazines Readers Poll. Some turn-around, don’t you think? 6. Bob Dylan In the late 1960s, folk-singing troubadour Bob Dylan was pretty untouchable influencing the Beatles, among others. Or so he thought. When he toured the UK in 1966 playing a new electric sound, it quickly became apparent that his audience hated the new sound! Bob and his band were jeered and heckled throughout the shows, culminating in one resentful fan shouting ‘Judas.’ Did he succumb to the pressure and go back to playing folk guitar? Heck no. He powered through, ignored the naysayers and invented a new form of electric folk-based pop. We wouldn’t have classics such as Like a Rolling Stone if he’d given up. 7. Seasick Steve The American blues guitarist Seasick Steve didn’t have it easy on his route to stardom either. Leaving home at the age of 13 to avoid abuse at the hands of his stepfather, he lived as a hobo for many years, catching rides by hopping on freight trains as he sought work as a farm laborer. His rise to stardom didn’t come quickly or easily, but he persisted and eventually established himself as one of today’s best blues guitarists. He attributes much of his unlikely success to his cheap and weather-beaten guitar, The Trance Wonder. But I  think it was more a case of a spoonful of talent and a whole lot of hard work, persistence, and determination. Conclusion So there you have it seven  cases of success against all odds. It’s both humbling and motivating to learn that these famous guitarists were knocked back in some way,  but crucially overcame their obstacles to come  up on top. The lesson here? Frustration and adversity can help you   if you use it to fire you up. Never give up. If you want it badly enough, you can make it happen! Classical guitarist Andres Segovia famously said: The day I stop playing guitar will be the day after my death. Now there’s perseverance! Ged Richardson is an avid guitarist and blogger who writes about how to improve your guitar playing at Zinginstruments.   Need Private Lessons?
